Lovely photograph Liban. What a tree. Is it tilting (the whole picture) downwards to the left slightly? The buildings seem to suggest that.
Never got to Vinales during my Cuban visit but my daughters stayed there for 4 days and they loved it there.

Liban it is a lovely scene but I think the processing is a little over done. It looks noisey, powdery. Not what I am use to with the D300.

What an amazing tree! It's a photographer's gift, especially with an interesting scene and dramatic sky attached. I appreciate that this kind of gritty processing is not to everyone's taste and it is easy to overcook it - in this case I think it has been cooked just to the edge: it works pretty well as it is, but I wouldn't want it any more. Less is sometimes more.

I agree with Tom though that the image seems tilted a little to the left in a way that intrudes into the enjoyment of the image. If that were corrected a little it would be much better.

    Cheers

Tom, maybe it's a bit tilted. I always have problems with the tilt it seems that's one common response i get in these boards. Next time you're in the havana area, u should really give viņales a visit, 1 word to describe it is Magical!

Greg, Yeah, i over did this on purpose. The tree was just asking for it. It was a beautiful tree.

    Thanks Jonlastimosa.

    Thanks Jeff.

Mike, Yeah the tree was amazing. I didn't have a choice but to photograph it. Thanks, I did the over processing on this one on purpose. Just liked the drama, glad you think it's right at the edge and not over the top.

    Thanks guys.

    Re: Viņales

The first thing I said was Wow, has a surreal look to it.

The second thing I said was, titled CCW. Probably about 2.5 degrees.

Looks like an HDR, but isn't, as you would never be able to get the cows to stand still like that (or did you?). Jeff is right that it looks 3-D.

I guess the tree is the subject. The other things like the horse and man add to the shot, but somehow I want them to be bigger.

Overall, no award winner, but a successful photo. Has a nice country day feeling.

I love it - and I like the textured look that post processing has given it.

Beautiful scene and love that tree. I agree with Mike in that this is cooked just to the edge and it works although personally I'm with Greg in wanting it dropped back a smidgeon. Lovely color and overall composition is grand. I agree its a bit tilted to the left, but that can stay. I'm really finding that I appreciate more and more when a scene is slightly off kilter as if it were of not great concern..

    Sweet work here, Liban!

    Re: Viņales

GB, it is actually a kind of an HDR light and generated from a single RAW file. Thank you.

    Thanks Roger

Gary, glad the tilt doesn't bother you. I usually don't see it until someone mentions it. It's one of the most common critiques i get here, u'd think i'd learn by now? lol. yeah the strong post processing is right at the edge. this is really the best version i generated, better than the slightly toned down ones. thanks man.
