    Experimenting with reversing ring.

I know its not perfect, and I can vouch how tough it is to do proper macro without all the equipment, but here is my attempt at using a reversing ring. I attached my canon 50mm 1.8 and my 70-200 mm L with the ring.
Its just plain not focused in the right place.

Half in, Half out of focus.
Try using a higher f/stop like an f/14 and add a second light to get rid of harsh shadow.

    Other than that kinda cool.

This was 32. I need a focus rail, which I have ordered.

    f 32 ... ok

so as suggested, the second light or a reflecting surface, a light box, would be nice, unless of course you want the hard shadow, if so I would make the shadow longer by lowering the light

I've found that while doing macros, obtaining sufficient DOF on round surfaces, is difficult

You may have shot the 50mm at a f/32 but your 70/200 is still at a f/4.5.
The only logical way around that is to get an old film lens that can be manually lock the f/stop
I think the old FD mount style could do it.

How did you get the f4.5? I shot with 70/200 at f/32 as far as I know, at least that is the lens inserted into the camera body and that was the f stop registered on the screen. Is the front lens the one that counts?
