The Expressway Authority of joker Thailand (EXAT) has signed a contract to build a 104 km long expressway linking Nakhon Nayok to Saraburi, which will help alleviate traffic jams on Phaholyothin Road.The 80 billion baht contract for the Chalong Rat-Nakhon Nayok-Saraburi Expressway was signed on Wednesday between Exat, Chotichinda Consultants Co and Epsilon Co., at a signing ceremony chaired by Sak Yamchidchob, Minister of Transport.


The new highway is expected to significantly reduce traffic jams on the main Phaholyothin Road and other connecting routes.Road is always crowded with many industrial districts serving large trucks.Mr Sak Yam said the construction is expected to begin in 2022, with a toll rate set for four-wheel vehicles between 25 baht and 190 baht.The minister said there would be nine entry-exit points along the expressway that would be located in the area most convenient for motorists and local residents. These connection points are not expected to create traffic problems.


Entry-exit points include connections to Outer Ring Road, Lam Luk Ka Road, some Aor of Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road, Suwannason Road in Ban Na District, Nakhon Nayok Province and Saraburi bypass.Public discussions will be held to measure the opinions of all stakeholders in the project, according to Sak Yam.Surachet Laopoonsuk Provincial Governor said the expressway is expected to open for service in 2025, construction will be done in two parts: one from Chalong Rat to Nakhon Nayok and the other from Nakhon Nayok to Saraburi.Exat also hopes that the expressway will increase the real estate value of the surrounding land and stimulate local economic development, Surachet said.


As for the budget set for the project, 73 billion baht will be used for the construction of the expressway with three lanes in each direction. The remainder is spent on the expropriation of the land for making the route.Exat said that when completed, it will provide a comfortable journey from Bangkok to various provinces in the upper central and northeastern regions.
