    Ever get that feeling.....

From the back of my Lake Malawi African Cichlid tank, I realized, I was being watched......

Nice shot. Do you have a shot of the whole tank? - TF

Haha, it is only about a 4 inch fish.... I can get a shot today and post it.... It is a 125g and we are working on stocking it...right now I have only 6 yellow labs(pictured), a redtail black shark, and a 10 inch mystery fish that we are going to place soon.... I also have 8 blue socolofi and a greshakei that are in quarantine and will be introduced in a few weeks(I quarantine for 4 weeks before allowing them in my tank)....plus I have other stock coming.... I have 2 other tanks as well... one with 16 Lab/Greshakei mixes that will not be allowed together with my purebreds, and one with 29 baby labs that are less than a inch long.......

    Re: Ever get that feeling.....

My well water is naturally very hard with a high pH and I always wanted a cichlid tank. What I had was a 75g planted tank with 500W of light and CO2 injection. I had to harvest the tank every week or two. I would be interested in seeing your layouts. Do you provide caves for them to hide in? – TF

    Re: Ever get that feeling.....

okay, these are just snapshots, so don't critique on these....hehe

Here is the tank.... We are taking the stand and top(not pictured) and painting them, they look horrible right now.... the water is low, but it is because I am doing a water change on it... I will post more pics once it is finished and upstairs... oh, also ignore the ugly green plaid behind it, it is a comforter that is just helping keep the tank warm(insulation) while it is downstairs....

Here is a pic of one of my Yellow Labs....

And This is "Captain", my 10" fish....

    Re: Ever get that feeling.....

    That's a big fish tank.
I wish in the original that there was sharper focus on the eye but its a just plain fascinating shot.
I like your other fish, too. Especially the shot of the last one.

    Re: Ever get that feeling.....

Thanks.... If I could have had more time to plan the shot, I would have focused better, but the fish moved right away.... I will play with it in photoshop to sharpen it....

Our big fish, "Captain"...We are pretty certain that he is a Nile Tilapia.... He is about 10in....

Looks nice. I often wish we still had our tank. Here is on shot of it that I found. The green was wonderful during the winter months. - TF

EDIT: I don't know why I cannot get rid of the second 'attached' image??? - TF

very nice!! I am so anxious to redo ours.... I am not really thrilled with the set up right now... My big fish, Captain would eat any live plant I put in there... so would the africans though too... I will probably always own a tank now... they are addictive!
