    Lightbulb Epic Colours, Epic Landscape

This an attempt at multiple technique blending in photoshop. Basically, what you see is a selectively blended series of 5 images each taken in a different style. B&W, Polarised, Warming filter, infrared, regular colour. I applied "calculations" for the red layer on the colour image, then saved this too. This gave me a nice deep sky to blend in. Then using brushes I selected what parts of each image I wanted to show. The whole idea is to create a sort of "300" feel mixed with a celestial-like surreal look. It's not meant to be realistic. It's merely me playing around to see what "looks good." Critique away! You can edit if you wish.

I do like the depth you have in the sky but the image needs foreground interest and there is some odd artifact in the bottom right where the ground abruptly changes color and exposure.
    No, I DON'T need that.

that is epic for sure...the sky and mountains are just amazing.... the eye does go to that bright spot in the land on the right... but still a really interesting "look"

    Re: Epic Colours, Epic Landscape

Looks wayyyy too processed for my taste. If you're just playing with this technique, I'd call it a good exercise. But as far as using it to make a compelling image, it's not working for me. The landscape itself is ok. The sky is certainly great. But like MB1 said, it's lacking a real subject in the foreground. And for me, the sort of patchy, non-cohesive color scheme is distracting. It needs to blend more smoothly and naturally to work. I keep looking at the different colors and wondering, "why?"

Suggestion - try again with this same image and see if you can make a better version. Try to make the blending more subtle and natural. And maybe crop it tighter so there's less of the field foreground. It's a nice frame for the bottom, but there's really not much happening down there.

    A tough critique, humbly submitted

It was truly just an exercise. I didn't expect anything great to come out. I'll play around with the technique a little bit more to try and get rid of the weird artifacts and "overprocessed look" (which I think has to do with an overly high contrast).
