    Re: enjoying the view

in my boring fashion i am gonna say i like it.. but genuinely have no idea why.. i could throw in a few possible improvements but not being sure they would be "improvements" i wont..

so "i like it" is all i am good for..

    Re: enjoying the view

I like it but I think a vertical of just the dog and the one window would have been nice too. The biggest thing that bothers me is how the window frame is cutting off the tops of the buildings. In a perfect would you would have had time to set up a reflector to bounce some of that window light on the back of the dog but a flash would have have workd just as well.

I like it. The sky and cityscape lacks some detail but you might work with that some in PS. I wouldn't mind seeing someone sitting on the right side looking out with the dog instead of an empty chair...

yea i agree with greg the picture is nice the way it is tho i .wouldn't mind seeing just a picture of that skyline by itself tho especially at sunset.

I like this shot but the background needs some burning in and maybe a little dodging of the puch.

    Cheers,

    Re: enjoying the view

i think.. but only think.. what i like is the combination of city scape wash out.. perfectly exposed chair and too dark dog..

a whole bunch of disparities all adding up to a nice result.. he he

it perhaps needs a frame to create the impression of a window within a window effect..

    Re: enjoying the view

I think the concept has merit and could be great photo. But, there are a couple things that I'm having difficulty with; the darkness to the left of the dog; two empty chairs, and the partial window. If the dark area matched the right side of the photo it might be better, use only one chair but I am still not sure how the table leg works into the shot, and either the entire window or move the dog over to the right and have no window frames. Sorry to be so negative as I don't mean to be. I think the shot has some potential. I suspect you took advantage of Rover just sitting looking out the window, in which case it captured a nice moment.

    Re: enjoying the view

Thanks a lot for all the comments and ideal of how to make this picture better.

I'm not babysitting Moustro anymore but next time I have the chance to have Moustro in the house I'll try few different shots. He's a great 'model' ;).

    PS.
Here is another untouched one that I took with my D70/NIKON 105mm 2.5 MF lens.
Not sure if is out of focus or move but here it is.. any potential !
    cheers

    Re: enjoying the view

its ruined by the highlight burn out on the otherwise nice wooden floor..

the two "dogs" might look better with a little distance seperating them for a future attempt.. just a couple of inches..

i like the nice rich browns your nikon produces.. all your pictures look a little "soft".. i dont think it detracts from the dog ones..

a canon user might thow.. he he

    Hey Trog
I agree with you about the two dogs being to close.
I took this with the 105mm 2.5 MF w/o metering so by the time I figure out the right A. & S. both dogs were gone..;)

    Thanks for your input.

as is oft the case which is why i favour cheap auto zooms and camera automatics (mostly) as opposed to the perfection of manual primes..

a bit beyond my price range that one.. i have a pentax k100d.. its six mega pixel relatively low noise sensor and in-body shake reduction give it few abilities i would hate to lose.. from another brand point of view i think u are about right thow..
