    English House

This is my first attempt at isolating color. What do you think?

I'm not sure if this is some part of Keats House in London, or if it's just a neighboring house on the same street. I don't remember. The raw photo wasn't particularly striking in color, but I thought it might be strengthened by isolating the bright yellow of the door and making the rest of the photo b&w. I also wanted to eliminate the "junk" outside the gate, and its circular shape made it perfect for a vignette.

    Comments?

I, for one, really like it. I am a big fan of colorization! I think it instances it can make real colors really POP. I'm assuming that you didn't change the color of the door? I think it's amazing what colors look like when you isolate them like that. I did one (not great in composition) of my son in black and white and colorized his eyes and they were so blue they looked unreal out of context. LOL.

I also really like the vignette. You're right, the archway to the path almost makes one itself.

    I think it's a great shot.

I agree with Kate. I think the composition is very good and the archway does frame it nicely. The isolated color on the door is interesting ( i think isolating colors in any b&w pic creates an interesting effect) but I feel this would be good as well in all B&W. The colored door is right smack dead in the center of the shot and while it does not seem to bother me too much, I still continue to evaluate it as it seems to irk me a bit. This scene might look good also if shot through the gates as opposed to over them. All in all I like this. . .good job
