    Re: Emptiness

Love this composition, Amber. You've bees stretching your wings a lot lately.
I do think the empty shell is soft but it might work here....sort of impressionistic.
I'd crop half the blue sky.
Beautiful shot though with obvious thought behind it.
    Keep Shooting!

    Thanks

That isn't sky behind the shell. This is inside my 125 gallon fish tank ;) The background is painted onto the tank.

    Re: Emptiness

You could even blur the background more, leaving the shell and the foreground sand as they are. Sharpen the shell if you want to. I would't crop because I think to show emptiness you need the empty space. I wouldn't think of a close-up of a shell a photo about emptiness unless, well, you want to show the shell itself is empty

I like the colors and the lighting.

    Re: Emptiness

I really like the crop and having taken many a picture of my fish in my tanks as well, this is an excellent photo...What I believe makes this picture go from average to quite good is the title of the photo...

Very nice Amber! I really like this shot. I'm going to have to go the other way though on the crop. I like the extra blue of the original version. The larger crop better conveys the "Emptiness" where I feel the tighter crop makes the shot more focused on the shell.

I hear you, as too was contemplating the ''emptiness''
Its the title of the photo that complicates this
    Again great presentation:thumbsup:

    Re: Emptiness

Thanks guys I like the full picture too. It was quite difficult to get, only because my tetras kept swimming into view behind the shell lol
