    The Elmhurst Trail

The city is building a bicycle trail to replace an old railway spur from the Nairn Overpass to the Perimeter Highway (about 10 miles). Only partially completed now.

    Re: The Elmhurst Trail

In this image I like the curves of the trail but that is stupid to ride on. I'm thinking you should have dragged a ladder along so you could get higher and shoot down to make the trail and its shape more noticable.

Maybe a little contrasty but a nice B&W.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I like how you used the bike to give some perspective. Higher would be better but who can lug a ladder around all day.

    Re: The Elmhurst Trail

I'm not sure it has enough contrast, I don't see a really deep black in there on my monitor.
It's a good scene though with that sweeping path, even though there seems no reason for it to curve like that except an architectural whim

How is that raised bed of gravel stabilised?
How is the edge of the tarmac protected?

Looks like the edges aren't compacted properly.
Maybe it's going to deteriorate very rapidly over winter.

So photograph it while you can !

    Stupid trail design.

That is a stupid layout that road designers gave up on decades ago. :mad2:

    Re: The Elmhurst Trail

being a somewhat intermediate trail rider (as much as one can be around here) it looks like it needs the curves to keep the rider awake !!

when it's that flat as it is around here, you have to tell people that you own an "off road" bike as when you say you live in houston and own a "mountain" bike they fall over laughing !!

I was once told to straighten the horizon on a fisheye pic....and I wondered..is the world truly flat?
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

I'd rather ride on the sidewalks anyway. But that is a nice trail. It's not complete though.
