I think, compositionally, it works pretty good. I also like the idea of BW. I would consider adding more detail - it seems quite "black and white" - not much detail in the grays. If you are going for the "old" look - some grain would not hurt either.

I see where you're going on this Arne, definitely an 'old look' about it. But it may be too dark to satisfy one's senses, as I just can't see much. Are there people walking about there? Is there something to the left or right? You see what I mean.

I might also have loosened up the composition a bit.

Perhaps a monochromatic using another color?
