Very nice. However, the background is so dark that it hides alot of the detail of the bird and the detail of the foliage. Try lightening it up a bit. Otherwise, I love it. Especially the rolling texture of the bank and the varying colors of yellows, browns and green behind the egret.

Just very nice colors there. Is that sunset glow on the moss? Just makes it all nice and warm. I would suggest cropping just a little of the bottom and a bit more off the right. That dark bush next to the Egret doesn't seem to add much. So, we may not need to see it.

That mossy bank sure makes this picture. The egret is wonderful eye candy to support your scenery too. I'm with Tim though, cropping off the right edge to remove the muddy spot would really take this image from great to super. Looks like you might have had to do a little wading yourself to get this one.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I took this shot late in the afternoon but the sun was actually behind clouds so it was overcast. I was struck by the mossy bank and I was lucky I saw it as I was following this egret and got the shot.

Here's an updated version including a bit of lightening and cropping per the suggestions. I think it looks better! Thanks again!

Nice shot! I love the colors, the green really stands out. I agree with oldschool, in that you should crop out the bush. It doesn't add anything to the photo and even detracts the viewer's attention.

I like that alot better. The bird definitely stands out more. You definitely highlighted the subject by cropping out the distraction. Good Job!
