    I like the dof and light. Its a technically good shot. It would be more interesting if there were something amongst the eggs...a flower, a bug, something completely non-sequitur.

    Hmmm.

    In general I like this a lot. It has a neat clever photographer lighting feeling to it. I prefer the graduated shadow on the right side. The left side light needs more of that. But one thing that's an absolutely must IMO is more negative space on the left side .. the egg looks like it is scrunched against the side there. This should be easy to do with your current shot since it's black: just clone in some extra black.

    Other areas of improvement could be, sharper (no reason not for it to be razor sharp on a scene like this, as you can use a tripod), different color eggs (depends on what type eggs one likes, I would think ), and perhaps a DOF that makes the front eggs also in focus. The back ones fading out are OK with me, might even add to the shot IMO..
