Eerie Entry

I would suggest you crop out the two outer beams. The right one especially draws my eyes too much away from the door. I'm not sure if you have access to the premises but a small crack in the door (opened not broken) can add a bit of eeriness to this.

As it stands right now, it doesn't give me any eerie feelings. Looks like a nice place, I wanna see what's inside.

Good subject and a nice, suggestive title. I feel like the image is too square and centered. I get stuck on the door and don't get a chance to look around at the details much. The distortion also bugs me. You know you can do a pretty good job correcting it with Photoshop? I'd try cropping the sides to get rid of some of the empty space and focus the viewer's attention, as well as correcting the distortion. I think that would make a big difference.

Since you used the word, "eerie," let me throw out an idea. You won't be able to do it since you're in Toronto and this particular door is in Mississippi. But it's good to think about and you might try it somewhere else. What if you used a slow shutter speed to photograph someone either opening the door or walking in front of the door? I mean a slow enough shutter speed to blur the figure into a ghost. That would give this image more depth and step it up to another level, wouldn't it? Right now, aside from the title and description, it's pretty two dimensional. It needs something else to bring it to life. I'm not saying my idea is the right one. But it's something that would add a new dimension.

Hope some of my suggestions are useful to you. Take what you want and ignore the rest :-)
