    Eastern Europe Experience

Hello Folks. Been months since I was here last. Recently spent several weeks in various eastern Europe countries. Thought I would share a couple shots with you.

    Bridge Work from Budapest
Collateral Damage from Krakow. The fellow in the distance just dropped it and kept walking.

    Re: Eastern Europe Experience

That bottom photo reminds me so much of northern/central Europe, as I spent a couple years in Germany back when. The rain, stone streets, Euro-style buildings... I can almost feel the wet chill just looking at it.

The top one I'm sure an architect would appreciate, but I am more drawn to the bottom because it has a story and some humor to it. It's not classical by conventional stds but just a good descriptive photo. Post more.

btw CF - glad you're back. Seems like a lot of the ol timers have disappeared (?)

    Re: Eastern Europe Experience

Thanks GB. I will post more as I get through the 2,500 shots of the trip. The bridge photo appealled to me as the negative space helps show off the height of the tower on this wonderful structure. Just me, perhaps. The lower photo just seemed to be a shot waiting to happen. The wind blew the umbrella inside out, and the fellow dropped it and kept walking. I think he had enough of the fight against the wind. Thanks for the comments.

krakow is central europe. but i guess that broken umbrella and poor weather creates a spirit of eastern europe for you.
i dont like this idea, and this composition. i think there is too much on picture, i will rather take bottom half only.

Thanks for your comments. Some shots please some people, some shots do not please anyone. But, I appreciate you taking the time regardless. As for "central" vs. "eastern" Europe, the people of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, all of which I just visited, would love to think of themselves as "central" Europe as they struggle to attract foreign tourists. I guess there is more appeal being in "central" Europe as opposed to "eastern" Europe. However, every map and travel guide I had at my disposal considers Poland to be in eastern Europe. Not my call. Just following the map. Thanks again for your comments.

    Re: Eastern Europe Experience

be it central or eastern, I think that a square crop of the lower half of the second photo might be more powerful.

I was in germany and austria a couple of years ago and I can feel the wet chill also...

Correct, be it central or eastern, the countries and cities are beautiful, welcoming and well worth the trip. Thanks for your comment Sushigaijin. Much appreciated.

I really like the second, its entertaining. "Poor weather" was about the last thing it made me think of, a little rain can be enjoyable, I think.
