    Question early start

I realize the ship is slightly out of focus, but it was making about 25kts. (haulin' butt for something that size). Is it worth trying to clean up/save?

Nice capture. The bird is the icing on the cake. I think you could lose a good 2/3rds of the water though and maybe some from the top.

    Thanks Greg.
I've toyed with this some more and came up with a square crop that I think incorporates your suggestions as well as cleaning up the image some through use of a median filter and edge preserving smooth...

I like the first one, it's more interesting composition to me.
The second one just looks photoshoped.

I would just enhance the sharpness a little and leave it like it is.

Try for a better focused one some other morning.

A tough one this .. the concept is wonderful, but I think the ship has to be a sharp silhouette for it to totally work. Having said that, I think the edit is much better in that regard. I really would have to see a print of it to say whether or not it totally works.

    Hi,
I like the bird which adds a lot to the shot. I agree with Mike about the sharpness of the ship. Thanks for sharing.
