Couple of bald eagles i was able to get close enough to get an ok shot of. It's a bit blurry but what are your thoughts/suggestions.

cool creepy scene if they were vultures? Eagles don't look like they belong?? I tried shooting birds and the one thing I know for sure...you need to get closer!! Bigger lens or dumb birds!!

Nice shot. I just saw a Bald Eagle today but i didnt have a telelphoto lens on me nor do i have one good enough to capture any good photos of an eagle anyway. It was flying away when i saw it so it was no good anyway.

Thanks for sharing. You are lucky.

I've photographed many wild birds, but live in the wrong area of the country for eagles. I have only seen a wild eagle a few times.

Your camera has a very long digital equivalent, but even so, getting closer would help. The other thing that would help is getting the camera on a tripod -- much of the blur at long focal lengths is from camera shake.
