    Question Drumers Drumming, People Dancing....

    This is one of the first photographs I have made with my new camera, I did it on New Year's Eve.
    I saw these two and thought they would make for a great photograph.
    I hope I was able to capture their energy in the photograph, their energy was pretty high that there were several people dancing around them.
    What do you think of this photograph?

    Well when I first looked at it before reading what you wrote, I thought they were just two guys standing there. =/

    I *love* B&W but I think it takes away from this photo... the blurry thing in front of the guy on the right is a bit confusing too.

    I do like the idea though and as they always say: Practice makes perfect ;)

    All that is gold does not glitter,
    Not all those who wander are lost;
    The old that is strong does not wither,
    Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
    From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
    A light from the shadows shall spring;
    Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
    The crownless again shall be king.

    Lighting_exposure is a real problem here. It would have been much better shot in colour with flash and rear curtain sych. as well as a slower than normal shutter speed.

    Brian, this works for me. You have captured something here, this picture has soul and mood. My eyes are drawn to the two guys face so really, I see no problem with exposure. I just like their nearly still faces surrounded by moving people.

    Brian, i do feel it has the energy you felt here and although there are alot of blurs and movement going on around the two subjects that make it almost too busy, I agree with Seb that you have captured a Soul and mood in the image, and it makes me keep looking.

    Brian,

    I keep coming back to this and finally decided I like it as is. It reflects the atmosphere of the street party and the people dancing and celebrating.

    Nicely done.
