    Drinks on the house...

How can I make this better? I cropped it a bit already. Should I get rid of the Coke cups entirely?

The foreground, although it adds depth, is a little distracting. But I don't think you can crop it out from this image because the subject (cash register and bottles) may not stand on their own from this angle.

What a great looking site! I don't know if you can go back and shoot it but if you could, I would stand in front of the Coke cups and square with the back wall. Put the cash register in the lower left. What a colorful and interesting subject it is.

Although I don't know what to do with the Coke cups, at least it is in line with the subject matter. Plus it adds subject matter contrast with the old way of serving drinks to the new way. But still, composition needs work I suppose.

I saw this shot while waiting in line with my mom. We were at the Farmers Market (The Grove) in Los Angeles. I got there too late and all the fruit and veggie stands closed already. I know where it is so I'll go back someday and try again.

If that was your intent, then forget about my previous post. Then use a little deeper DOF to render the cups slightly sharper. Not too much as more DOF will blend the two planes together.

Yes, I agree. The foreground really hurts the photo. I dont know if you can crop it out here w/o losing half the photo either, less you made it a vertical. I guess it was one of those "take it with flaws" or don't take any shot at all photos. In that case, what the heck... it was worth the try!
