    Drinking to forget...

This is an idea I had in mind for some time. I tried to shoot these 2 weeks ago with a background but I wasn't satisfied with the result. Then, I went back to it yesterday with my "white countertop" approach but I can't say that I like it a lot more either. It seems that what worked well for the littles guys in "Make it funky" and "Hip Hop" isn't all that effective for a can and a bottle.

Anyway, I am interested to hear your take on this.

    Re: Drinking to forget...

The wine glass and mug get lost in the white background.

The size of the wine glass creates a DOF problem as the top has a soft focus and the word 'zinfandel' get soft as well. Not sure how others feel about the variety of light sources reflections caught on the wine bottle. IMO, it's somewhat of a distraction.

The 'mind erase elixir' looks like a fun prop to work with.

BTW, why the 45 degree angle?

I have high regard for your work.....hope you don't mind the comments.

    Thanks.

I agree with manacsa, I noticed that the top of the wine bottle is soft. But I think that the white counter top works very well, the wine glass seems to get a little lost in it though and the reflections in the bottle are slightly distracting. But I like the overall idea.

    Re: Drinking to forget...

Thanks guys! As I have said at the first place, this is not a shot I am satisfied with but I was curious to have your take on it.
I shot these at angle from an upper position in order to avoid the back wall. I'd need a real studio for more flexibility... lol I am too concerned about the dof and the various reflections on the bottle. Perhaps a polarizer would help to cut reflections.
