    The Dreamer

This is an older photo from my collection but one of my faves. (p.s. that water was freakin' cold....)

Hmmm - redid it in black and white for kicks. This image isn't perfect by any means, but something about it I've always liked.

This is very different for sure, but I like it. Looks like a poster for a scary movie or something. I feel the color version is much better and the grain/noise works well too. If you don't mind sharing your post processing work, I would be interested.

The picture does not really do anything for me, or interest me enough to look at it for long, but out of the two I feel the color image looks stronger.

It was done on a film camera. The crop was pretty tight which is why its grainy. I really haven't done much to it beyond that.

Color version is awesome. Creepy, interesting.

    The grain works.

the blur of the leaves combined with the unmoving mask is a really cool effect.

I'm not one for color, but the color wins out on this one. The color helps to draw focus on the face, and the blur has added nice interest and movement.
I would have liked to get a bit more focus on the mask and not so much blur, but with the grain your not to bad off.
I really like this idea, I think technically it could be enhanced if reshot...but in the current form it works for me.
    Cheers.

    Re: The Dreamer

thanks - it was an early piece and if I was to do it all over again I'd probably do it different(looking at it and imagining I was looking through the viewfinder at it again I have an urge to move to the right a step or two). But for some reason I still really like it and most folks seem to have a strong reaction to it - for better or worse.
