    Drain Pipe. . .sorta weird

Sorry to be redundant with this series, but it is what I have been working on as of late and I value the insight and comments of this forum. I find i like how this turned out ( was one in a set of about 16 shots taken from various setttingsd and compositions) but feel it may be weird to some. Your thoughts are much appreciated . . .

I like it, but I kinda wish the stick wasn't there, or else maybe that the eyes were moved down and to the right a half inch or so, so it didn't look like the stick was growing out of the nose.

I have to agree that this image would be much stronger without the stick, but it still a very nicely done shot. The slightly puzzled expresion in the eyes of the man is great. It reminds me of losing a baseball down a storm drain when I was about 7

Garry, your series isn't becoming reduntant at all. Is that shot weird? I don't know but I oftenly love strangeness anyway. I must partly disagree with Kellybean and Mtb'n ski here. This is certainly a good shot (not your best but good) but I couldn't imagine this shot without an object of some sort in the drain pipe. Perhaps the stick is hiding the man face a little too much but it seems to me that a smaller stick or a small (and well exposed) rock, or some tree leafs (or something else!) are necessary to complete the scene.

I still like were you are going

The stick doesn't bother me at all. I think that it partially makes the shot giving it that weird effect, and I happen to be a fan of weirdness. I like it. I wouldn't change a thing.

Thanks Kelly, Mtb'N Ski , Seb, and Nina. I figured there would be some controversy regarding the stick and the eyes peering in. It was my intent to have only the eyes peering in and the rest of the face blocked out, however I can completely understand the points made about the precise location of the branch seeming to come out of the nose. Although I am not bothered by it and like the weirdness it adds, I truly value and appreciate the comments and points made by all. Thanks

I'll cast a vote for leaving the stick (or something!) in there. It isolates the eyes, which makes the shot for me. Cool photo.

Exactly! Kind of a "Wilson from Home Improvement" kind of a thing... ;) It's the way the stick is positioned that does it. Great back-lit highlights inside the pipe too, without them there might be too much black space. There's a lot in this shot but it works here.

Intriguing piece of work and well done for experimenting and being patient. This is one of those thought provoking shots and that makes it a success in my book. The stick adds interest and should remain. It was there and so belongs.

Shadz, Another view, and Bobby. . . thanks for the thoughts. Do you feel this shot can hold as a stand alone or must it be part of the series? I would like to think that all can stand on their own , but this one I'm not sure.

Stick must stay! I think it says someone is diggin something out of that pipe!
Awesome shot. I like the texture of the pipe you've captured so well. The water captured equally well. Very crisp!
I think this shot could most definitely stand alone- it works in your series, but it is very different from the others. Still a view from within, but it's character gives it the ability to work alone.
    Great shot.

Thanks Nina, and VillenaDecorte. The positive observations help me as much as the critiques.
