Nice colors, exposure, composition , shooting dragonflies can be tricky, one moment they are completely still, blink, and they are gone, did you try shooting it from the front ?
Just the colors? Is there anything else you like, Erik? What do you think he could have done to make this photo better? Remember this is a forum for serious photo critique. When we post comments here, we should always try to take a moment to really give each photo some thought and offer some really useful criticism
I do love the colors but I find the photo distracting. I realize the subject matter is the dragonfly, however my eye goes to the plants that it is sitting on and the big empty space in the upper right corner. I think this isn't the best angle of the dragonfly and I know you said this was the only clean one you had, but I feel like the whole image was just a last second shot and this was all you got. It's not really showcasing anything. This is just my opinion, and I can tell from the quality of the image that you probably do great work, i'm just not a fan of this particular image. I would love to see more though!
