Which is why it makes an awesome, vivid abstract. Nice work, Herriot. I think your choice of framing is excellent, and the colors are brilliant.

    Re: Dragon

obviously you disagree. You already made your opinion very clear. There's no point in stating it again. I think the image has lost a bit with JPEG compression, but I do like the colors. It's a great shot because it makes the viewer look at it for a while without really understanding. The great photos are the ones that make the viewer think. And this certainly does that. I agree, it's more of an abstract piece, but I like it a lot. Try saving it with a higher compression level, (like a 10) and increase the saturation to make the colors really pop out, and it will be a great shot.

Exactly, this could be interpreted in so many ways. Sometimes we have to use our imagination, and try to "see" the picture as it would likely be in print, at full size.

    Re: Dragon

Thanks all for the comments and the discussion the image prompted. I framed this to find an interesting abstract that has a clear Chinese basis without making the end result too clear, happy I kept you guessing at least a little.

I increased the saturation on the image below, thinks that this helps the colours to jump out a bit more...

    Thanks again

    well done herriot,

the increase in saturation really makes the photo jump out. the colours are just brilliant, so vibrant, and the abstract composition works very well.

    congratulations...fabulous photo!

Love the shapes, colors, and comp. Whimsical or fantasy abstract to me. The color boost helped a lot. Nice shot,
    Mark.

The colors are excellent and I also like the abstractness of the shot.
