Heck yeah! Very good picture gahspidy! I like it anyway, can't speak for anyone else but I don't see how anyone could not like it! IMHO Nice colors, great composition!

I like this picture a lot also. I might have cropped in a little closer to cut the equipment barn on the right out, but it might cause the picture to be unbalanced. Great color also.

    nice shot

excellent scene, would u happen to have any pics zoomed in on the person or as the only subject in the picture? seems like some good opportunities there as well

but the only thing i think i would have done is crop a bit off the bottom?

    Hello Gary,

I wouldn't change this one in any way. The colors are especially remarkable.

    Gary,

Frankly, I don't think it works. The foreground looks barren, the middle-ground is busy, the fence distracts and pulls my eye away from the barn and the cowboy (himself too small in the frame to really make this image) and the background I see too little of.

All elements that don't seem to really work well together. Even though the colors are strikingly beautiful, they actually make me feel worse about this shot because I want to see more of the gorgeous colors with the landscape, the other elements frustrate me because they are interfering with that..

    Take care.

I think it's a good photograph. Personally I don't see any real distracting elements.

The image is too centered Gary, in this case i don't prefer the horizon in the middle; in my brain I'm constantly trying to pull the barn down.

I went wacko with this one, I threw away rules of thirds, threw away regular formats and just cut the whole bottom off... wham! (now this is unique for me! ) I actually like the result; suddenly it gives the image more space, it reflects the wideness of the farm and it works well with the fence. I would love to see the panorama version of this one published as a poster, I think it would amaze people more than the original crop. Of course, my opinion, feel free to disagree.

The colours are great and the compostion as well. The gravel in front almost made me think of flowers but at closer inspection noted it as such. The far side of the picture is also well focused.

    Joe,

I like where you're gong with the crop, it does make it stronger.

Thanks all for your comments and excellent suggestions. I must admit, I was pleased with the image as it was, but I like where it was going with the crop. I took a little of everyones suggestions ( terry about eliminating the equipment shed on the right. Soren and JoeD about the tighter crop on the bottom).
As Sebastian stated, I like where Joe is going with the crop, but I just don't feel that I want to take it that far to a panoramic aspect. So, I have come up with this crop that I like better than the original. What do you think?

I like what you've done with it. I think by the cropping, you've given it a better focus on the subject without removing her from the setting.

    Good job.

This is a fine image with gorgeous colors. I wouldn't neccessarily crop it. It seems to me like it could have used something like a tire or wagon wheel where I put the red spot. I'm curious if you agree.

Also, what king of 19-35 did you use? I've seen some failry inexpensive ones and thought about getting one.

Thanks again for the suggestions. I am very pleased with the final crop and will be printing it out as such. This thread has been very helpful, thanks again.
LavaLamp, I have the Tamron 19-35mm. Wide angle lenses are great as they really allow you to either capture a whole scene or take a scene totally out of context. This one is really good for the money ( under 200.00). I researched it on the review forum here and found so many favorable reviews about it that I decided to go with it. Not sorry. However, I do wish it had a closer min. focusing distance. Being able to close focus with a wide angle lens can give some really interesting images. I am considering eventually going for a higher end wide angle zoom with closer focusing, but for now, I can't beat this lens for the money.
