I like the composition and really like the soft grays.
If you can bring out the sign a bit more..not too much..I think it would be perfect.
Very nice shot!
Greg - yes it is a nice shot, and the tones receding into the bridge are lovely - that is what mono was made for! I am in two minds though about whether or not you should take a little off the sides. On balance, I think you should, but it's a close call.
Greg, hmm I think the second is feeling a little cramped now..?.. We had a similar bridge called shallowford on our vacation..one car bridge and olddd. ok, I think, in the second, you should try losing the sign and crop down to the first crossbeam below it..more a pano and add in the border. Keeps your eye flowing down the bridge taking in all the steel structure..?..
Thanks again Mike, Thanks as well Rod. I do have a version without the sign. I was shooting over a fence here but I crawled under the fence onto the bridge, muddy place for sure. I also took a few medium format shots with a Yashica 124G.
I am like Barney Fife, I have a gun but Andy makes me keep the bullet in my pocket..
Greg......as always, another fine piece of work. Either version works, and the choice to go mono is an excellent one as others have said.
