    Double Crested Cormorant

I mentioned below that I've had trouble exposing for white birds like the great egret. I've found the anhinga and double crested cormorant, which are mostly black, to be tough, too. This is one of my better cormorants lately - cropped a lot.

    Lavalamp,
This shot is ok, but a few things that I think would have been an improvement. first, it is a bit soft. Maybe lost its edge in the resize? Also think a different pose from this bird would have been more pleasing. The bg is distracting to me as well. And better lighting would have helped too, as it appears flat. I am just pointing out everything i think could have been improved here, but there are lots of thing i like of this and overall, I do like this pic. I like the Framing and that you included the wooden rail the Cormorant is perched upon, and that you have it straight with the frame. i like these birds and have been trying to get some shots of some all black cormorants here on the creek, but they are always perched way out on some pyles drying out their wings and they are just out of reach for me to get a shot worth anything. keep it coming
