    The Doors

Shot in an area in Dublin, Ireland known for their brightly painted doors. Found plenty of doors but difficult to isolate 2 good ones side by side without a lot of city clutter around.

Tried to find a composition that maintains that sense of discontinuity that exists there between neighbors.

WOW! This is great! If only the one on the left was a bit more orange than red! (maybe it's just my monitor... Have to check this out on my well calibrated one at home! )

That is awesome!! It reminds me of the games where you have to find all the differences. I first thought it was two pictures merged together. That is very cool! I love it!

LOL, I actually still cannot tell if they are one picture or two......I like that.

I had the same thought, Chow...I have a hard time telling that it's all the same picture. VERY cool photo... I love that everything's so similar, and yet different. The windows at the top, the gates, the door knockers...even the bricks.

    Loupey,

Nice capture - my first thought of a title when I saw the pic was 'Arch rivals' LOL

One minor nit pic is you might want to crop the step at the bottom,

    Re: The Doors

Thanks, everyone. I have a couple more like this that still make me cross-eyed when I look at them. It helps me to look at that not-so-vertical separation between the two different colored bricks.

On this shot, there was only one spot from which to stand that made any sense. This spot allowed me to shoot the hand rail between the doors end-on to render it basically invisible (at least insignificant). Unfortunatey, this position made the scene slightly distorted, in my opinion.

I think that the picture itself is so interesting that you really do not notice any distortion. I like it. I do agree about cropping the step though......other then that.....PERFECT!
