    Re: Door & Rust Figures

I think I'd crop to emphasis the patina over the door and the door of course. Try it without the curved seam at the top as well.
My eye thinks the entire right can go and probably the far left spot as well. The curves are pulling my eye out of the frame.
    It's not about the camera....

Thanks Chris, good points. I was trying different crops, since the curve bothered me too. I came up with this one but I had to clone the seam out. Otherwise the crop at the bottom would have been too close.

I like the second one, maybe add more over the door if possible. Much better at focusing on the elements the matter.

yeah i'm agree with cropping & focusing the object
but I feel the 2nd image is flat, looks like little rusted wall with a door..isnt it (something like) barrel?

I agree on the crop as it really focusses attention nicely.

    Re: Door & Rust Figures

I like the cropped version better - would like to see it with contrast boosted, maybe even cropped tighter (part of door plus rust stain). Also, darken areas away from the door - especially upper left. Its relatively featureless, but because its no darker than the door - your eye spends too much time there.
