I love this! THe B&W rocks, I like the shadows created here as it blurs into the back...it almost has a "negative" effect to it. Well done (and I do like the light spot in the center lol)

Interesting shot and place. Maybe kneeling down an taking the shot from a lower angle will aid the tree "dome" effect.

Good use of BW. Do you have the color version? I like that the fence is only on the one side in an otherwise very symmetrical photo.

This shot is great Tom. However if you took the shot from a lower angel (like BlueRob suggested) the trees would have more of an archway effect. But the shot is nice.

Nice shot Tom. I wish it wasn't as soft though.

I keep arguing with myself whether I want a figure in the lane or not and cannot decide as I do like the shot as is and a person in there would change it and I don't know if it would be a positive change.

Very nice work, Tom. Its a classic mysterious path shot. I am curious about the softness to this and its overall appearance. Was this a crop from a much larger image?
In any case, there is an intriguing mood and atmosphere here that pulls us in and down the path to the light.
    Looking good.

Re: Don't Go By The Laneway

Thanks everybody for taking an interest.
I rarely play around too much with images but I am finding this one a great candidate for experimenting and trying to create the perfect mood.
The softness in the first image posted was done in Lightroom using the Presence/Clarity tool. I am still finding my way around LR. I was trying to achieve a sort of mystical type of gloom if you like.
I attach below the latest uncropped version but with some added flavourings. My reason for cropping the first version was that I thought too much bright light was visible at the top.
Now I have calmed this down somewhat. I want this shot to be all about mood and I welcome your further comments as to whether I have got anywhere further with this version.
