    Don't ask me why....

But if you were to ask me why I took this, I would tell you, "I wanted to test my lens."

This is mostly SOOC but resized, made vertical, and MAX quality 12 when resaved as JPG using PS7.

    Camera Model Name
    Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL
    Tv(Shutter Speed)
    1/50Sec.
    Av(Aperture Value)
    F2.8
    Metering Modes
    Evaluative metering
    ISO Speed
    200
    Lens
    Tamron 17-50mm
    Focal Length
    17.0 mm

I went all the way wide and it focused probably between 3-4 inches from bottle. I used the f/2.8 and ended up with a hand held 1/50 sec. I'm liking the lens so far.

that dof seems fairly narrow for 2.8... maybe its just the angle.. in any event - cool effect!

Very cool. I'm picking mine up today if the local shop still has it.

That's a cool effect, and it's really impressive that you shot from 3-4" away, but as a critique of the photo, I think you should have set the focus on the label of the bottle rather than on the cap. It's a big distraction to see slightly-out-of-focus lettering in the center of the frame.

Interesting. I'm use to doing f/1.8 with a couple of my lenses. I'll have to compare one of these days. Thanks.

I agree. I saw that once I stared at it for a while on the computer. I hope the new lens is not out of tune with my focusing points. Will test on other subjects.

    Thank you.
