    Don't Adjust Your Monitors

Found this guy in a stand of Fennel doing what their kind always do.

Don't know the species but it was about 2 1/2" overall length. The color is as accurate as I can recall when I shot it the other day.

What a great shot. Nice composition, colors, lines of the bush/twig- I like it.

Yes, very nice capture. Amazing what one can do this time of year. But why would I want to adjust my monitor? Snappy title, anyways..

    Appreciate the comments, Coastal Flyer!

Thanks for commenting, GB1. I was referring to the crazy psychedelic color of this little fella. Had I not seen the original, I would have had a hard time trying to post process the colors

Beautiful caterpillar Loupey! I really enjoy looking at your macro work. I feel like he is about to ask me to recite the Little Crocodile! The colors are gorgeous. Nice work!

    Re: Don't Adjust Your Monitors

Thank you very much, CL & ltilley. You kind words are very generous

ltilley, you may be surprised to know that all of my macro shots are not from a "macro" lens. This shot (and the "sticky" shot above) was made with the Canon 300mm f/4L IS prime. I go on hikes every day (or at least every other day) with one lens and a set of extension tubes and one teleconverter (2x). This shot was made with an extension tube - one 36mm tube I think? Can't say for sure because I change/add tubes and teleconverter thoughout my hikes (10 to 12 times). I'm sure that I am wearing out the life of my mounts

Excellent comp, Loup..... just enough of a curve at both ends to lead you from bottom to top. Very crisp.
