    Dog wall

I have a room dedicated to photography. One of those walls is my dogs passed, and present. I need to add some pics of my new boy Gus, before Superbowl. He Turned 1 year old a month ago. I have probably a thousand plus pictures of him, way to many to go through. Any ideas:idea: , things you would do change, ect will be greatly appreciated. What do you think of these? Thanks again!!!!

I like all of these, but the first is outstanding! Second choice would be second one - running toward camera though it's just a touch soft.

Great shots, I really like the 4th one. I can never get good pictures of my black dog in the snow, shes so dark that i need a longer exposure, but then the snow is blown out. Yours came out good

I like 1, 2 and 4. 1 is great because of the clarity, pose and snow. 2 is great because of the goofy expression but the softness hurts it. 4 is a great expression and clarity and pose but I miss the snow. Good job.

Prefer 3 and 4, with special emphasis on 4 (though I'm not sure about that selective coloring).

I like #1 and #2 with 2 being my favorite. 4 is also pretty good. I'm not crazy about the selective coloring either, and there seems to be something else going on. . not sure what it is. Selective sharpening? or over sharpening somehow. whatever it is I would reduce that as it does not look natural somehow.
#2 does not seem to have any of the extra processing and besides from the great moment it looks and feels right.
    very nice, and beautiful dog.

I'm for 4, though I don't think it needs the eye coloring. - TF

I love #4. Generally not a fan of selective color, but I don't think it's bad in those photo

all I can say is that I want to roll around in the snow with him! He is soooo cute!

No. 4 takes the lead no doubt IMO...sharp, good light, great pose. Like it!
What I´m uncertain is the "selective color" I think is not worth it nor needed in this types of shots....

The selective coloring does not seem natural. The clarity of #3 is great.

Thanks a million for the reply's. I wasn't sure about the selective coloring either. This is the first time I actually tried it. But I love the color of his eyes, so i had to try it. Looks like the wall photos will be all B&W.
The full size photos are much sharper. I loose a ton of sharpness when I compress my pictures for this site, not sure why though, but it sure is frustrating. Maybe one of you could give me some pointers. I always use bi-cubic and maintain the original print size. My original full size Tiff files I save at 300dpi.

Thanks again, you comments have really helped me decide for this series.

One thing that may be confusing your downsizing - DPI has nothing to do with anything in the digital world. Only when you go to something physical, like a print, does DPI matter.

    Try sharpening after downsizing.

    Re: Dog wall

Beautiful. I love the selective colouring in the first photo, one of my favourites. In my (unskilled) opinion, it gives an intensity that wouldn't otherwise be there. The collar is a nice touch and balances out the picture.

The fourth is also up there in rank, I have trouble deciding whether I like the first or the fourth more. What I do like about this photo is that I can almost see the colours as intense and beautiful as they would be in a colour photo. I don't think the selective colouring is needed though; I think it would add a nice effect without it. Fantastic job on this one.

I would also like to see the fifth as a colour photo, just to see how it looks.
