    Dog Fair

Found some pictures from last Oct. I thought I would put up for critique. Please let me know your thoughts either on the images individually or as a whole.

    These are great!!

I really like the third picture, the expression on the little gril's face is so funny, looks like she is having a lot of fun, perhaps would have been nice to see the complete head of the dog on the right hand side of the image.....great shots!

I love the third but my favorite is the second. I'm a sucker for cuddly pups, much like sleeping babies.

    Re: Dog Fair

to my despair, puppy avalanche does not seem to want to load on my screen at this time. however, i do like the first two, especially the second of the sleeping hound. I would only critique that i feel the highlights on the right side frame are blown out and i would have liked to see some detail in the fur on those areas. Still, a precious moment, and that counts for more than anything
please do not edit and repost my photos

    Re: Dog Fair

Hey folks, thanks for the response.

Herriot - Thanks for the kindness! Those puppies were so cute and wriggly. The shot was catching her in mid fall and the next second she could not be seen for being covered in 6 mos. old basset pups, they didn't let her up for air for five minutes. She had a blast and helped take care of them all day. I wished I had gotten a more complete view but had on the wrong lens for the job widest I could go was 28 mm. Darn, should've had the 17 mm fish on my hip, now THAT would have been a picture!

D - That dog was so cute, I think her name was Clementine. She slept all day long. She had to be dragged to the judging circle on her dog bed and she STILL got second place in the laziest hound competition. It was QUITE a day.

Gary - Thanks for taking the time to look and comment I always appreciate your perspective. I agree about the blown out highlights but it was a blazing hot bright day for Oct. and she was lying next to a huge door on the concrete. I tried a darker exposure but the shadows seemed to take away from her plushiness and I really wanted to push for a soft, "The world is my pillow" idea. I'll see if I held onto that darker exposure for comparison purposes. Hope the avalanche image will reveal itself to you at a later date I'd love to hear what you think.

P.s. Found it! Different pose and time of day though. The sun had not yet reached her here.
