Does the ID Band Ruin It?

I like this photo, but I don't like this Boat-Billed Heron's ID band. What do you think?

Not being a berd nird I am not bothered by it nearly as much as I am by the twig cutting through the parakeet's head.

    Nice shot man.

How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.

I'm not much of a bird geek myself but do like them, especially this one is very interesting. I would say the band does not bother me too much, but as Sebastian stated the branch cutting behind this Canary's head is not right . . . ;)

It's BIRD NERD....... and I am one!

this Cochlearius cochlearius looks fine with the band. leave it due to the fact that this is a DOCUMENTATION of a sighting of your's

If you choose to edit..remove the BG and add a busy subway scene that'll still be a photo...right?

I say leave the ID band. It creates a story behind the photo. For those that aren't bird nerds, it leaves question of why, when, where, and how?

I'm sure the bird doesn't like it too much either

I think the band is pretty unobtrusive actually. I mean, it's not hot pink.

I like the photo, although it might be a little tightly framed on the left. And it's too bad about that very dark branch running through the bg. Nice selective focus, nice detail.

I have to agree with Seb and Gary. I didn't notice the ID Band until i re-read the title and looked for it. (but i'm no photo guru either.. ) and yes, the branch cutting through the budgies head is more bothersome to me than the ID Band.
