    Disheveled

God I look like, well ...

Anyway, an attempt at softer and smoother lighting. Now you see why I photograph myself dark.

    Sure could use a bath...

very sharp the only thing that bothers me (other than you are not wearing that fantastic black hat!!!) is that light to the right . Move it up and called "Disheveled Angel" :P

All opinions expressed by this person are purely that, opinions which means she doesn't actually know anything about photography.

    Hahahahah!
You look like a surreal version of Dr. House.
Great detail and nice reflection on the eyes. Agreed with the comment above, the light is a bit hard on the right side of the face.

I don't have an history to evaluate this in terms of your "in the dark" shots and looking for softer lighting, but I can tell you that it looks like an interesting and amusingly honest photo. If you wanted to work it up, I'd think about black & white, so we don't concentrate so much variations of the red and the curtains and the like. I'd also crop, so you can make it into a picture that's just about you. Thanks for sharing. I put up a new photo of mine below, should yo care to offer a comment.

    Re: Disheveled

Yeah, one problem I have with my face is controlling the red. I agree the light on the right is too hard. On the left I have a flash firing into a white sheet hung over a ladder. On the right is the camera flash with a sto-fen diffuser. I played with angling it away from my fact to bounce of a wall, but in this shot had it aimed to close to my face.
