Looks like a beautiful spot. I think these compositions are decent. The lighting was very harsh though and caused very high contrast. Some shadow areas are very dark with no detail and some bright areas are too bright with loss of detail. Lighting is so important in making a good scene into a great one.
    Good compositions

Because of the harsh lighting the colors are washed out and the contrast is high making these nice memories but not great photos.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I agree with you folks...So let me ask the question. How does one go about taking photos in these conditions? Is there a filter or would a polarizer work?

I think a polarizer would help to a certain extent, but you've got too great a range between darks and lights for the camera to properly capture. You could also try bracketing your exposures and then merging them in post processing. Probably better would be to shoot either early morning or late afternoon when the light is better. This might also be a good place to go when it's overcast since you are not including any sky.

The first photo i like the least because the flowers are in the center... but otherwise... Got nothing much to add to what has already been said!

I was the victim of harsh lighting too, and as MB said, these make for great memories but not great photos.... although in some parts the light allowed me to take some very nice shots... overall... it is true... you will want to go there either early morning or late afternoon.... when the light is less harsh and more "colorful"

    Nice place though!
