    Dilapidation in all it's Glory

I composed the full shot simply in order to highlight the church's dilapidation which I feel exudes character. Then I shot the door to complement it.
    Kodak E100VS.
I appreciate any and all feedback.

What a great subject Jon. Love the colors and the old paint and everything. What a lovely place to shoot! My personal fav is the second shot, just focusing on the paint and everything,

    Great shot!

Re: Dilapidation in all it's Glory

For everyone else with vocabulary skills like mine I looked up "dilapidation" and it means "to bring into a condition of decay or partial ruin"

I learn something new every day

This looks like a wealth of photographic opportunity!! I hope you'll go back and try different things with it.

The door photo catches my attention because of the decay and colors. Out of curiosity, did you happen to take any macro shots of the paint peeling? I've always looked for a shot like that but have never found one for myself.

This also looks like a great place for black and white and portrait photography. I bet a night sunset scene would look awesome too!

I'm sorry that I haven't been critiquing these photos as much as I've been blabbering about the possibilities I guess I feel the photos are technically good but are lacking something. If I can figure out what it is I'll tell you because I honestly don't know right now. Perhaps someone else will be able to think of it.

    I see more things

    I see more things here!

A tight frame of the window in the church and a closup of the rusted hinges on the door.....go back and get these two shots under overcast skies Or did you already?
