    In A Different Vein

Trying to fight my natural urge to saturate and tweak contrast.

Tyhis is very nice. . .and I know what you mean about holding back your urger to boost those colors and contrasts. But, I think you did well in leaving it as is as i find the appeal in it's soft subtle colors and tones. I think I would like to have seen a bit more sharpness in some of the areas that are losing focus. . .so perhaps a smaller aperture would have helped. I think this is a pleasing image.

I like the composition and the detailed texture, though I will say the bluish hues and pink almost make it look like it's not a real leaf for some reason.

    Re: In A Different Vein

Thank you Gary and PJ. Gary, if I can find the leaves again, or similar leaves, I will give it a shot and see if I cant get the increased DOF.

PJ, its actually the underside of the leaf. The blue is really gray (I think its some sort of mold. UGH!) , and the pink is red if I were to flip the leaf over. I just had more texture visible on the underside and so thats what I shot. It does look strange, admittedly.
