    Looks like the periscope of a giant submarine...I like the composition...it has a pretty desolate feeling to it but for...well...the lamp post! Nice...

    I like the color one, but I feel that the B&W one has more atmosphere and depth to it.

    You can still see the pier. It might be more fun if you could clone out the pier (if you don't mind deception).

    I think cloning out the pier would detract greatly from the realness of the picture. I'm not a big fan of major alterations.

    Apart from that, I think I kind of like the pier. I am thinking that a light pole sticking out of the middle of the water would look kind of weird--unless I am looking for a surreal approach.

    Actually, just thinking about the surrealness of that idea makes me want to do it. I think that I will. Thanks for the ideas and commentary.

    Here is the picture with the dock taken out. I think that it looks a little goofy, but that's only my opinion.
