    Dead Daisy

Just another play with the Daisy.
I thought the dead one made an interesting shape.

It is interesting, but the unfocused one in the background is weighty and drawing me in. The dead one though is very attractive, like the way it's curled...

Hmm... could you "burn" the large one in photoshop, increase the fill light a bit, then increase the blacks a bit (to compensate from paleness when increasing fill light)? That way you will darken the distractingly bright flower and make the background a bit more green instead of black. Wonderful use of DOF though.

I like this, but would also like to have the OOF one less forceful. Is it in front of or behind the dead one? - TF

what a cool thing to spot. I would have never thought a dead daisy would make such an interesting subject. I do agree that the OOF live daisy is a little distracting, but this may be solved by pulling the crop in a bit. If I were ps-ing this photo, I would try to bring the light up a bit...and maybe use the light to focus the attention more on the dead daisy.

When I have a photo like this, I usually mess with it in several different ways until I get the impact i was looking for.

    Nice eye!

Thanks for all of your kind comments.
I kept the live daisy visable do show the living and the dead.
The arrangement is a bit tight, making OOF vs DOF a challenge.
