Messing around by some factories before a guard dog almost got us.

When you got back to reshoot this watch out for the dog... I think its a great backdrop but the car needs to pop more, an element in the background seems to stand out more than the primary object. Watch that pole sticking up through the roof, and the headlights on as well perhaps. btw The first one is my favourite.

Thanks, i see that pole your talking about, i'm gonna try and clone it out. The problem with his headlights is they are Hid's and are very bright even through the blackouts, so its hard to get a good expose with them on.

Looks like a screen capture from "Grand Theft Auto." (That's a good thing.) I like #1 best. Maybe a couple of shots from close-up with a wide0angle would be worth considering.

The backdrop is wonderful, it certainly makes for an interesting photo. The problem is that the background is lit better than the subject and detracts from the subject. Better lighting on the bright yellow Daytona will make a huge difference here.

The third photo is lit the best of the three(still not nearly enough), but the pose is the worst. The first two have a good pose, but not even close to enough light on the subject, the subject should be lit as well or better than any other part of the photograph. The fence post growing from the top of the car should be cloned or a different angle chosen.

Lava: Right now I only have my 18-55, I'm looking at the 10-22mm any suggestions on others?

armando/EOS: I have the RAW files, I'm gonna see how much light I can squeeze out of them, otherwise I'll have to go back for a re shoot.

This second pair looks much better...now the car is the clear main subject in the scene.

I like what Armando mentioned about turning on some lights, that will look more....pro or studied...if that makes any sense.

Thanks Rob. I think next time I'll do two exposures, one normal shot, then one with the lights on at a faster exposure, then merge them together later in photoshop.

Jay C, no need to do a merge. Have your buddy sit in the car and turn the headlights on and then back off quickly at some point during the long exposure - works like a charm
(Or if the lights flash when he hits the alarm/remote you can do it from behind the tripod.)
