    A day at the pond

Hi Folks...I am cleaning up my computer as I am getting ready to delete some pics and burn others to dvd's, anyway, I had already deleted this one, but thought I would place it here to see what you folks think...I know what I don't like about it, but am curious to hear your thoughts..

    You don't like it because:
    1. it doesn't look natural...something to do with the colors?
    2. it doesn't give you a sense of depth?
    3. the colors?
    4. the leaves of the tree in the foreground "touching" the roof of the house, the water...?

Actually Aging eyes, you pretty much nailed it...I don't like the colors and the tree...Hence this is why it was in the trash bin...
    Thanks for affirming my suspicions.

i was going to say the colors as well, that purple just doesn't go with the blue sky and somethign funky with the roof to.

I don't know about the roof...I am remembering how this came to be...I was using a film polarizer and set the camera to bright colors and well, an experiment that did not work..I do like the sky though...

Thems some wild colors! I likee.

OTOH the colors and the composition don't go together all that well. This seems like a good technique and a pretty target rich site so I would remember to go back and reshoot in the area-if this photo helps you to remember what you did and where you were I would say keep it.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Re: A day at the pond

You never know when a photo may be needed. I never delete any photo unless it black or white, that is no data. I just burn it all to CD or DVD. That way if I need a photo to get something off for a Graphic arts project I have it.

I like that you framed the scene with the leaves, but those colors are . . .not pleasing. Also looks very crowded at the upper half of the shot and nothing going on in the lower half.

Re: A day at the pond

    Hi Folks
I will try and make it back to that spot and in the next few days...
As I said earlier, and by the looks of it, we are all on the same page...
For me it is good, because it at least shows me how much I have learned here..

Re: A day at the pond

    Hi Folks
Went back to that pond during my lunch time and took a few pics..
    Which one or none...
    I appreciate the C.C..

Ok, on this one I cropped a little off the top and a little off the bottom and resized it.
I also cloned out the over hanging palm trees..

this photo is the same basic photo as above, but with out the cropping and it is resized..

On this photo, I backed up and went a little bit wider using the palm trees to frame the picture...

    Thanks Folks,
    javier
