    Dawn at the Lake

Shot with a D800. Awesome dynamic range. I would say the a99 and D800 have about the same DR. To close to call really.

This is one of those shots that makes critique real difficult, had took try real hard to try and pick any holes in this Greg.. ( long pause ).... I'll get back too you ..

Only thing I could think of is that if you take the contrast slider all the way to the left ( reduce ) it will soften and somehow highlight the clouds a bit more, also the light to dark transition on the water will be a bit more gradual.
I think thats more of a personal taste thing though

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I have no issues with you editing my photos

I'd say that it looks like the the exposure was just long enough for me to want to have been a bit longer to really smooth out that water.
    mostly Nikon gear

Feel free to edit my images for critique, just let me know what you did.

Thanks Pete Ill play around with the contrast some. I am not use to processing Nikon RAW files. n8 I had it as long as I could get without adding a ND. I was up at F/22. But I also agree. When the D800 gets slower than 100ISO they give the exposure setting something other than an F/stop. I know there is probably a good reason but I don't know why they chose to so this.

Wow the purple really looks awesome. Unfortunately not too much purple is found in nature.

I like it but compositionally I think the wood structure should be lower in the frame to draw the eye in. It's pretty centered vertically and IMO would look better closer to the bottom of the frame. If you could get it in the corner it might make a nice leading line in toward the center of the image.
The colors and processing are very nice and overall it's a good shot.
