I think this is beautiful, a visual poem in gold. It would make a great framed photo.

    afdlips:

You don't know if you like this??? What is not to like? This is really nice. The detail along the left side of the image giving way to what looks like fire in the "bloom" then nice detail again as the eye leaves the photo on the right. If there is anything comment or critique that can be said, it would be the exposier of the "blooms." It is pretty white through there but I am not so sure given the rest of the exposier and the strength of the image overall that this is a bad thing. If you can play with it and tone that down maybe it would be better. Regardless, it is pretty nice.

    Thanks all!
    Don:
thanks a lot! I was reluctant to save the photo because i didnt know what to think about, and then to hear that its a "visual poem in gold" is really something. I think I will get it framed!

    CF:
haha. I guess im a little too picky on my photos. abstract-like photography isnt really my style, so im not too keen on what works and what doesnt. I was actually going to burn in that section, but got sidetracked and... well i forgot. lol. thanks!

    PC:
    thanks! i appreciate the comment.

Nice. 180 mm? Looks good. The detail tight. Props.

Wow, looks like an explosion. My only suggestion woudl be for more DOF and/or more stability of the subject or camera to get it even sharper. Good colors and I like your macro.

... macro shots are harder than they seem. The slightest wind can cause blur on many of the subjects like this.

I find that if you really set out for the day with the intent of doing macro that you may want to bring along a big piece of cardboard with some sort of support to block the wind. It's hit or miss otherwise.
