    Daily Life

    what do you think?

i don't have a wider shot that includes his left hand and the loop of the rope.

I don't think being a little wider would hurt this.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

Commented on this in your gallery.
Love it. The hand cut off was not ideal, but not a big deal either. I love the greens and soft browns of the horse and mans skin tones. The dof is perfect.
The man has a alot of character and the setting is great. The overall composition is really well balanced, not only with the shapes and positioning of the subjects but with the arrangement of color as well.
Its simple and yet visually strong.

Nice light , composition, good mood relaxed expression of the man

I Like the contrast of the sharpness of the man vs the rest OOF areas

The OOF greens seems contrasty, harsh, grainy,
did you applied sharpening to the whole image ?

I really like this portrait. There is a certain sincerity to it which I like. Also, I think the balance of the animal and the man is very good. The only improvement i would suggest is to see about brightening his face and perhaps darkening the rest of the body just a tad.

    Re: Daily Life

    Gary, thanks.

Armando, yeah i ran an unsharp mask on the whole thing.... hmm. maybe i should selectively apply the sharpen to only the skin tone and that way leaving the bokeh alone? never thought about that before. Is taht what you meant? my bokeh has been less than desirable lately, maybe that's the problem. thanks.

llew, thanks for the suggestion and feedback.

appreciate it guys. this one is one of my favorites i finally got to shoot the faces of the people of the places i visit.

    Re: Daily Life

I love the portrait of the man. As has been said, his relaxed posture and obvious comfort with being photographed shows up really well. Like one or two of the others though I am a little less comfortable with the background - out of focus would be one thing, but here it looks a little like it doesn't belong with the figure of the man.

    Cheers

Thanks Mike. I don't understand what the problem is with the BG in your eyes. This is exactly how it looked like, maybe too much bokeh? i was using a f1.4 lens. maybe it's how the colours rendered. To me, i don't see the problem cause i was there and i shot it.
