    Curiousity

    This little fellow was checking me out from the cable line in our yard.

    I did a nearly 1:1 crop here. Is it too soft at this close of a crop?

    It does seem just a touch soft, though you may be able to selectively sharpen to bring it back as the near side feathers look good. Love the tilted head and expression!

    Hi Cara,
    I too like the expression, angle.In a shot like this the focal length / lense you're using can make or break it.(i.e. cropping @ 100%) I realize this was a quick candid,getting closer isn't always an option..Just my thoughts. :O)

    Ha ha. I guess humans aren't the only ones who tilt their heads sideways when looking at people on occasion. Good catch. Somewhat soft yes, but not unexpected, as zooming in this far and cropping to in effect provide even more zoom does that.
