I would leave it like that, which gives the impression that the kid has ample room to look to his right. You could crop the left side a little, but that would make the photo too square.
*Camera: Canon Rebel XT with stock lens plus a clear UV filter
*Software used to enhance photos: Photoshop Elements 3, or Graphic Converter v.5.7.3 for the Mac
*Computer used to upload photos: iMac G5 running under Mac OS 10.4.3, plus Safari (or FireFox for the Mac)

    awww!! seriously cute!!

i agree, I would crop some more on the left, there is a bit more empty space on that side.

I would just leave it as is...looks pretty good. Nice photo and it doesn't bother me that he is in the middle.
I'm always mentally photographing everything as practice.

    Re: crop job

I would leave it as is for 2 reasons

    1. the head is aligned with the oval and therefore adds to the symmetry
    2. I like breaking rules (I mean guidelines) and still getting photos that work which this does.

Cute pic!!!I would leave it as it is..Only one thing though,,I would have got down low and shot the child at eye level...Its not a good thing to shoot kids from above it appears you are towering over them..

    Re: crop job

I know I'm going against the grain. It's a nice shot in general. The first time you posted this, I recommended a way for you to bring out his eyes in a more dramatic black and white. I think getting rid of as much play pen as possible would be best. The label in the back and front of the play pen shound not be in a nice photo. Cropping in close makes it more personal...

NOTE: He gave permission for others to modifiy his photo.

But then again....it is a baby photo so why does it have to be DRAMATIC???

Hope nobody thinks I ruined the photo....

    Re: crop job

lol i dont mind editting you dont need to get all "he gave permission".

hmm... not a big black and white guy myself, but i can see how that crop job would definitely work - i was scared to go in that close. but theres still one problem, that blue label. Looks like you patched it out but its very obvious. because of the lines though i cant find any way to patch it or clone it out without it looking totally obvious.
