Critiques and Suggestions Please, Moon and Tree

I just took this picture 30 minutes ago. I like the color, but I couldn't get the same color and have the moon...well look like the moon. The only manipulation I have done is to change the contrast a tad. Does anyone have any suggestions for future pictures I might take like this? Thank you very much.

Dear Tubaman,

I almost want to say "What tree?", but I can see the tree. Even though I can see the tree, it is still too dark. At least on my monitor, it looks like a white blob with some strange things at the bottom. I would suggest that you go to Sky and Telescope online(http://skyandtelescope.com/howto/imaging/), as they have a nice little section on photographing astronomical subjects. A good effort, but please try again. Your photo has the potential to be good compositionally, but the subjects are not well exposed.

I think this is the monitor gama problem again - you need to adjust your gama as I can see the tree quite clearly silouhetted against the sky. My major criticism is that you have exposed to long for the moon to become slightly elongated or not enought to really get it elongated.

I really do like how the clouds have moved in the picture. Good attempt try it again with longer exposures
