    Critique Please

I didn't know what to call this so I just asked for your opinions instead.

    I shot this with my D60 and 50mm f/1.8

Were you shooting at f/1.8? Looks a bit soft. Also, what its it?
    Light and background look good.

It was shot at f/11 I believe. The softness is due to the compression. I have no idea what the plant was.

I like it. I like the textures on the plant, the change in color from top to bottom and the nicely blurred background. I also think the angle works well also. A simple composition, but nicely done.

I took that with the camera I had before the K10D. However I was not happy with it and ended up going back to Canon. I have a 30D now.

    Re: Critique Please

Almo - It has potential, but I feel like Frog in that it's too soft.

I don't think the softness is due to compression here... If you look closely you can see that the middle and lower areas are sharper than the top, and if it were due to resizing or something like that, the softness would probably be quite uniform. Even if you shot it at f 11, it could have been misfocused and the sharp boundary only came up to the bottom part.

Anyway, the subject is good. The lighting could be a little more uniform but it is still interesting as is.
