    critique my editing

Using photoshop elements 5.0. Pic taken with indirect flash in raw format.
I did a little with exposure and saturation, then tried to get rid of shiny nose and drool reflection...I'm not great at editing and want to get better.

Before is first and then edited.

    Re: critique my editing

    Frog,

This is some pretty subtle editing, but it's done well from what I can see at this size. The only other things I might recommend would be to remove the thumb on the right side (baby's left) and sharpen it up ever so slightly. Have you possibly tried a square crop on this?

    You did well.
    Here's what I usually do...
layer > duplicate layer > healing tool
then on my blending options I turn the opacity down a little so there is still some light on the nose and lip.

    Thankyou, PC and Alison!
I was mostly concerned about her face and know it needs some cropping and probably the thumb though my son,(whose thumb it is) and maybe the baby in some future time might like the thumb there. Not something to sell or contest or something.

    Re: critique my editing

Frog - I see very little difference, but that's not bad in itself. If the shot is close you don't need to go overboard. This one still seems a little too dark on the top of his head. I think the contrast of his white-ish clothes and black background will do that though. I would try to make his face a little brighter, seems underexposed a bit. \

Anyway, this advice is from someone who is no PS expert!
